I spent October of 2024 in Brittany, getting a little coastal air. While it rained most of the time, I did manage a couple sketches.
Spring 2022: Villefranche-sur-Mer, France
Villefranche-sur-Mer
I was going through my watercolor sketch book, and missing the the water, the sun and the warmth. This usually happens to me in February. I begin dreaming of either the desert in Americas West, or the warm sea of the some place far away, with soaring birds and the smell of salt air on warm winds.
Both the above and below little studies were done in Villefranche-sur-Mer in the spring of 2022.
More Cheese Please
In the spring of 2023 I travelsed to Corsica, I would like t say it was to eat cheese, but…really it was my usual seasonal depression. HA HA HA, my desire to be someplace warm and sunny by March. There was a lovely open air market in Ajaccio, and one of those stands had the below cheese in it, a sheep milk cheese, firm, with green peppercorns. Dear goodness it was fantastic. So good i purchased it four time in a as many week as well a brought some home with me when I left. If only it has a name.

Below, was a Corsican cheese, and I write “was” lovingly. As it was lovingly devoured by me and it was delicious. I will add that I was curious if the fern leaf was going to add any positive flavor. It didn’t it was simply lovely decoration. Sometimes just being lovely is enough.
